I take used, beat-up railroad spikes and hand-forge them into bottle openers. Each one has a twist, and each one is slightly different.
Depending on the spikes' condition when I get them, the finished bottle openers can vary from 4.75" to 5.5" in length.
I sand the openers' roughest edges down for safe handling, but as much as possible I keep the rough and weathered finish of each spike, so you can tell the hard lives they've led en route to you.
Each bottle opener is finished with two coats of clear paint, but because of the type of steel used to make spikes, if left in the elements they will rust over time.
The listed price is for one (1) finished railroad-spike bottle opener.
